Redwire TV Documentary on Native Style

The youth-led online media source RedwireTV recently put together a mini-documentary on Native Style. Headed up by Cheyanna Kootenhayoo, this documentary explores the world of First Nations Northwest Coast fashion through interviews with designers and consumers. Fashion designers such as Tamara Rain Bull, Pam Baker, and Tony Solomon share their ideas about fashion, history, and how they utilize their cultural identities within their unique designs.


Redwire is a collective of Native youth creating uncensored spaces for other youth to find their own voice. All of the media projects are initiated and led by talented young individuals, inspiring creativity, confidence, motivation and action. As a media and arts organization, Redwire dedicated to the power and healing of unhindered expression.

Cheyanna Josette Veronica Kootenhayoo, is a young multi-talented Dene/Nakota woman from Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, and originally from Cold Lake, Alberta. Cheyanna works with Redwire Native Youth Media Society as the Video Coordinator.
