Cody High Style 2012 | Bruno Henry

Every September, people from all over head to Cody, Wyoming for the annual Rendezvous Royale - a boot scootin' full week of high end western art and culture.

The Cody High Style fashion show has become one of the week's highlights, with fashion designers who define 'western chic' coming in from throughout the US and Canada.

One of these designers was Bruno Henry. Originally from Six Nations of the Grand River in Ontario, Henry creates garments from supple leather and hide in black, white, and all variations of tan.

NAFW12 | Review: Bringing First Nations Fashion to the Scene

This year marked an important historical event - the launching of the first ever National Aboriginal Fashion Week. Held in Regina, the two-day event kicked off on Thursday, June 21 (which was also, fittingly, National Aboriginal Day in Canada).

He tells me there is fluffy snow on the Kagawong dock, and the bay's starting to freeze over.

CANAB Fashion 2010 Review, Round 2

Happy New Year everyone!

A couple of days ago, I wrote a brief review of the fashion show held at the Canadian Aboriginal Festival. For this post I'd like to focus on two of the designers - Bruno Henry and Ronald Green of Ronald Everett Design.

Bruno Henry:
Originally from Six Nations of the Grand River in Ontario, artist Bruno Henry brings his artistic visions to life through stone carvings, jewellery, photography and fashion design. Described as a self-taught artist, Henry is inspired by the traditional use of hide for clothing. He is known for creating classy clothing that blends animal hide and ancient designs with chic modern styles.
